Need to make a U-Turn?

Updated: Dec 31, 2021

Like any trip, there is an eagerness to see new places, anticipation to meet people, the exhilarating experience of new environments and weather patterns, and of course the icing on the cake, rolling up in style at your destination.

This was my experience, remember the crossroads? I chose a path, heading towards a specific destination. It was an enjoyable ride. I had found my pace. The excitement of new challenges, constant learning, meeting new people, and all the dynamics of being a business owner, kept my adrenaline levels up, and my days full.

As the trip gets longer, with the destination becoming a mirage, restlessness, fatigue, anxiety start checking in. Constant checks on a GPS system to see how much longer and further the trip will take. Inquiring, just to make sure one is headed in the right direction or looking for distractions to keep the mind calm.

What do you do when you realize it wasn’t your destination in the first place?

It may be tempting to continue with the journey, especially after considering the time spent, resources used, and all the physical and emotional investments made. It might be difficult to change direction.

“Remember, if you're heading in the wrong direction, God allows U-turns!” Allison Gappa Bottke
